About 6 years ago, retired university print making teacher, Michael Crouse, invited me to come to his studio in Paducah, Kentucky, to collaborate and learn about printmaking. We hit it off and have been working together ever since. Michael has been very generous with his time and studio. We started out doing stone lithography, and I did a number of editions. I will share those on here in the future.
About two years ago, we switched to drypoint. I fell in love with drypoint. I started making simple drypoints and hand coloring some of them. Over the two years, I have progressed to more and more complex images, with multiple plates, printings, and hand coloring.
I don’t really do editions with drypoint. Instead, although there are multiple images using the same plates, those plates are used in different combination, different aspects, and different colors. Each print becomes an individual, unique piece. When a piece gets to a place where it feels complete, I title and sign it. So far, I have titled and signed 92 prints, and I am working on more constantly. Here are images of the pieces that I have titled and signed. (this is in progress)
