C-47
This is a full shot of a C-47 aircraft which flew into Barkley Midwest Aviation terminal outside of Paducah, KY this weekend. The crew said that it was the last original C 47 flying in the US. They call it a "flying museum." The C-47 was the workhorse of WW II - one of the great planes of aviation history.
My father, Sam Donham, was a C-47 pilot in WWII, doing a lot of his time in the south Pacific. I went to see the plane to honor him and take some photos for my nephews and niece so they can see what their grandfather did. It's easier to visualize it when you've actually seen it. I'm going to post a second photo also - of the cockpit. Wow! Can you imagine?
