My response to University of Kentucky letter
In my posting a few days ago..."Followup on mugging...." I attached a copy of a letter from the University of Kentucky telling me that they wouldn't have a response to me until this week because their lawyer was out of town. This is my answer to that letter:

>Dear Ms. Cox,
> Thanks for your message. I wanted to clarify something in your letter. I don't believe I actually made an "open records request." On one item, I had a question in a public meeting about some information that was presented in a power point presentation at the meeting - i.e., who was on an advisory board that was mentioned in the presentation. It was a very straightforward question presented orally. Much to my surprise, it couldn't be answered at the time, but I was assured that I would be provided with an answer. I haven 't yet been given an answer.

> The second item is regarding papers that were passed out to me voluntarily by public officials with no mention of any privilege or confidentiality until I mentioned that I was going to show them to other people. After the meeting ended, I got up to leave with the documents which were in my possession, and public officials attempted to take them back, and called the police. In the meantime, we had an ad hoc negotiation in which it was agreed between the officials and I that I would return the documents, against my will, in return for an agreement that I would be provided with copies of all of 12 sets of scenarios, quickly, hard copy, if I returned the one scenario that I was given during the meeting. I agreed. I kept my end of the deal, and I took the public officials' words that they would honor their end. Thus far that hasn't happened.
