Sunday News Shows

The Sunday News Shows were kind of interesting today. As a matter of fact, let me do something a little bit different. I'm going to just list some of the things that stuck out at me that I heard:
(1) Colby King's reaction to Rand Paul's statements that he didn't like the fact that the Civil Rights Act forced private businesses to not discriminate against people because of their race or any other reason - he said, if we heard right, that if Paul's philosophy became the law of the land, that, at that point, you could "buy him," apparently a reference to being a slave;
(2) Both Charles Krauthamer and Monica Crowley distancing themselves from Paul's statements;
(3) Eleanor Clift sticking up for Blumenthal even in light of his blatant lies about serving in Vietnam;
(4) A reference to statements yesterday from long time Democratic strategist James Carbille, who now lives in New Orleans, that Obama's failure to adequately address the catastrophe of the oil spill, was going to be his Katrina;
(5) Bob Woodward's observation that one thing to learn about the oil spill is why the oil companies like drilling out there in that deep water - because the oil just comes shooting up in large quantities after their pierce the underground layer, and they don't even have to pump it;

A lot of that seems politically upside down to me, so it makes for interesting discussion. If I think of anything else, I'll add it later.
